Nail Shapes: Did You Know There Was So Many?

Welcome back to T'up North's Blog series, A couple a days ago we went over some nail tips and steps to achieve strong healthy and beautiful nails. Today we are going on a journey to discover the ten most common nails shapes we use when either shaping our nails, Selecting a set of stick on false nails and also all the different types extensions you can have. So let's dive in...
Shape One - Square Nails
Square nails have a straight, flat edge at the top with sharp corners. These are a classic and versatile shape that works well for both long and short nails.
Shape Two - Round Nails
Round nails are filed into a gently curve at the top, with no sharp corners. This provides a soft, natural look.
Shape Three - Oval Nails
Oval nails are an elegant nail with rounded tips which are more elongated than your round nail shape. This shape can make your fingers appear longer.
Shape Four - Almond Nails
Almond nails are tapered to a point, similar to the shape of an almond. This is a popular shape due to their stylish and feminine appearance.
Shape Five - Stiletto Nails
Stiletto Nails are long and pointed, resembling the shape of a stiletto heel. These nails tend to create a dramatic and edgy look.
Shape Six - Coffin Nails
Coffin (also known as Ballerina) nails are square at the bottom with a flat top and squared off tips. These have become a trendy choice in the recent years and are also my personal fave.
Shape Seven - Squoval Nails
Squoval nails are a combination of square and oval shapes. These feature a squares off tip with slightly rounded edges. Which offers a compromise between the two shapes.
Shape Eight - Mountain Peak Nails
Mountain peak nails are characterised by a sharp pointed tip that resembles the peak of a mountain. This is a quite dramatic shape.
Shape Nine - Lipstick Nails
Lipstick nails have a squared bottom and a sharply pointed tip which believe it or not resembles the shape of a lipstick tube.
Shape Ten - Ballerina Nails
Ballerina nails (also known as coffin) have a slightly tapered edge. This is to mimic the look of a ballerina's pointe shoes.
